FTM Simulation Testing


L-R: Aircraft journeymen mechanics, Steve Garcia, Ramon Tovar and Joshua Lopez, prep the AH-64D engine nose gear box for testing on the new flexible testing module-4 (FTM-4). The FTM-4 is an AH-64D Apache Right/Left Nose Gearbox torque and speed test stand used by the Powertrain Output Division to perform DMWR level testing. The FTM is capable of testing the nose gear box at speeds up to 22,000 RPMs and loads in excess of 750 pounds of torque. This simulation compares to the rigorous demands of an aircraft in flight.
