CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (December 22, 2016) -- CCAD's 2016 one-week holiday closure will allow workers to spend the holidays with friends and families and give maintenance crews a rare opportunity to service the infrastructure when it’s not in operation.

The closure will include regularly occurring federal holidays: Christmas Day which is observed on 26 December 2016 and New Year’s Day which will be observed on 2 January 2017.

With utilities and equipment shut down through the holidays, all staff, employees and contractors were notified via internal communication to prepare their work areas and equipment for a total loss of electricity, steam, gas, air, etc.

All personnel are reminded to clean out refrigerators and freezers, to properly secure food items that may attract a pest, to dispose of office leftovers and to turn off (and even unplug, if possible) non-essential electronic devices, including personal items.

Before departing for the holiday break, Depot Commander, Allan H. Lanceta wishes the entire CCAD workforce a happy and safe holiday season.

While we enjoy the holidays, remember our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guard members are spending their holidays away from home, keeping our Nation safe and preserving peace around the world.

Celebrate responsibly. Even just one too many drinks may impair your driving and lead to devastating consequences. It's just not worth it. Make responsible choices that don't engager yourself, your family or others. Take advantage of taxi services and other rideshare alternatives to get you safely home.

Take care of yourselves, your families and your friends this holiday season.  Each and every one of you is invaluable to our CCAD team.

Allan H. Lanceta
Colonel, U.S. Army
